and served men in war and strife.

Sheena McLean

Athletes 4 Life was founded by Sheena McLean in 2018 after she realized the incredible need for a safe haven for thoroughbreds retiring off the racetracks. Throughout her life Sheena has had an extreme passion for animals of all kinds including an immense love and passion for horses. She has ridden and competed in multiple disciplines throughout her years including hunter jumper and eventing. At the age of 16 she purchased her first horse which was an off the track thoroughbred (OTTB). At this time the seed was planted In Sheena’s heart that she needed to do something to provide a safe, loving option for retiring racehorses. Although many years had passed, the dream never died and in December of 2017 Sheena ran across Great Kiss (aka Goose) a thoroughbred fresh off the tracks that was in desperate need of rescuing. Rescuing Goose re lit the fire in Sheena’s heart and was the catalyst to start Athletes 4 Life, in attempts to be able to give more horses the option and opportunity to start a new life and new career they all so deserve.
